CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Football had 16 of its players earn 2023 All-Ivy League recognition, the league announced today. The Crimson had four first-teamers, five on the second team, and seven garner honorable mention accolades.

A unanimous selection, running back
Shane McLaughlin led a trio of Crimson offensive players who earned first-team honors. He was joined by offensive lineman
Jacob Rizy and tight end
Tyler Neville. Defensive lineman
Thor Griffith was the lone Harvard first-team selection on the other side of the ball. For Neville and Griffith, this marked the second straight season in which they secured first-team accolades. Rizy became a two-time All-Ivy performer after being named to the second team in 2022.

The All-Ivy League Second Team, meanwhile, featured three defensive players in
Nate Leskovec (DL),
Matt Hudson (LB) and
Ty Bartrum (DB). A pair of offensive linemen in
Spencer Cassell and
Austin Gentle joined the trio. The All-Ivy recognition was Leskovec's third of his career after capturing second-team honors in 2021 and honorable mention accolades in 2022. Gentle, meanwhile, is a two-time honoree following his honorable mention plaudits a season ago.

Rounding out the Crimson's all-conference selections were seven players on the honorable mention list. The Harvard offensive athletes who received recognition were offensive linemen
Mike Entwistle and
Logan Bednar, and pass-catchers
Cooper Barkate (WR) and
Tim Dowd (TE). On the other side of the ball,
Tyler Huenemann (DL),
Kaleb Moody (DB) and
Gavin Shipman (DB) all landed on the list.

Harvard finished the season with an 8-2 record (5-2 Ivy League) and won its 18
th conference championship.
