Women's Volleyball Closes Out 2023 Home Season, Falls to Yale 3-1

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On the Crimson's senior day celebration and final home contest of the season, the Women's Volleyball team (14-7, 7-5 Ivy) fell to the Yale Bulldogs after an explosive first set, 3-1. The four sets ended in scores of 25-14, 20-25, 11-25 and 13-25.

Senior day celebrated the seven Crimson seniors who have been a huge part of the Harvard Program for the past four years: Nicole Prescott, Grace Allen, Ava Rauser, Ariana White, Olivia Cooper, Katie Vorhies and Ashley Wang

Harvard took control from the start of set one, building up a five-point lead early in the frame. The Crimson proved they were going to be tough competitors to the conference leaders, with the team's seniors celebrating their senior day with powerful kills the Bulldogs could not return. With four and five-point runs through the set, Harvard took a ten-point lead at set point and handed the Bulldogs their first set one loss since Oct. 6, 25-14.

The second set was a close matchup from the start, with four lead changes through the first 14 points. Neither team let the other pull ahead by more than two points as they remained tied up at 17. From there, Yale took the next four points to create the first distance of the match in favor of the Bulldogs and finished out the set 25-20 to tie up the match 1-1.

Set three was led by the Bulldogs through their entire 25 points, as they built up a lead early on and held on to win 25-11. Set four went similarly to the third, as Yale built up a lead, making it tough on the Crimson to come back. They went on to win the set 25-13 and the match 3-1.
