CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 19/15 men's ice hockey suffered its first regulation loss of the season after falling to No. 8 Quinnipiac by a score of 6-0. Trailing 2-0 after two, the reigning national champions netted four goals in the third period to extend their lead to 6-0.
Mullahy was tested early in the first period after having to make a stellar glove stop. Cristophe Tellier got behind the defense and tried to beat Mullahy's glove side, but Mullahy came out with a great stop.
Mullahy was busy in the first period after making sixteen saves on seventeen shots – but none better than the early stop on Tellier.
The Bobcats lone goal of the period came from Christophe Fillion after he found a soft spot in the defense and was able to beat Mullahy on a partial break.
Quinnipiac scored again after a puck hit a Crimson skate and bounced over Mullahy's glove.
Quinnipiac scored four goals in the third period to wrap up the homestand with a 6-0 loss.
The penalty-kill was able to kill off four of five penalties tonight.
