Football’s Griffith Named Stats Perform FCS All-American

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Football senior defensive lineman Thor Griffith has been named to the 2023 Stats Perform FCS All-America Third Team, presented by FedEx Ground. The All-America honor is the third this season for Griffith, who was recognized previously by Phil Steele (fourth team) and FCS Football Central (second team).

This past fall, the Portsmouth, New Hampshire, product finished as a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, won the Bulger Lowe Award from the Gridiron Club of Boston, earned All-New England honors from the New England Football Writers, and gained all-Ivy League first-team laurels. A Senior Bowl Watch List candidate, he posted 55 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks in 2023.

Over his Harvard career, Griffith tallied 132 tackles, 33.5 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks in 30 games.

Griffith is the fifth player in Harvard history to earn All-America accolades from Stats Perform, joining Ben Braunecker (first team), Cole Toner (first team) and Justice Shelton-Mosley (third team) in 2015, and Truman Jones (third team) in 2022.

Griffith helped Harvard win its 18th Ivy League title this past fall as the Crimson posted an 8-2 overall record and 5-2 mark in Ivy League play.
