CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard Football enjoyed a 2023 campaign that saw it be nationally ranked for a majority of the season, go 8-2 on the year and win the program's 18th Ivy League championship.
Along the way,
Tim Murphy, The Thomas Stephenson Family Head Coach for Harvard Football, became the Ivy League's all-time leader in conference victories, won his 200th game at Harvard, and captured his 10th conference title, which propelled him into a first-place tie in Ivy history.
At the end of the season, the Crimson had
16 players earn All-Ivy recognition, with running back
Shane McLaughlin being unanimously voted to the all-conference first team. The Ivy League rushing champion was later
named the 150th team captain at the program's annual banquet.
In December, Murphy was named the
Gridiron Club of Boston's FBS/FCS Coach of the Year, with
Thor Griffith taking home the Bulger Lowe Award, which is presented to the region's top defensive player. Griffith also received a number of
All-America accolades, along with
