Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Men’s Volleyball Falls in Three Sets at Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Harvard men's volleyball team fell in three sets on Saturday afternoon at Charleston. With the 19-25, 11-25, 10-25 decision, the Crimson's record dropped to 4-6 (0-2 EIVA). The Golden Eagles, meanwhile, improved to 13-0 (2-0 EIVA).

How it Happened

  • Harvard enjoyed a 3-1 lead in the first set, but was unable to hold its cushion as the hosts answered with three straight points to take their first lead. The tilt stayed competitive until UC turned a 7-6 lead into a 14-9 advantage. Even at that point, Harvard stayed the course, fought back and trailed, 18-17. The Golden Eagles, however, collected three consecutive points once again to create a separation that the Crimson was not able to close in falling, 25-19.
  • Harvard looked to change the narrative in the second set by scoring the first two points and enjoying yet another 3-1 lead. Unfortunately for the visitors, the Golden Eagles had other things in mind as they later turned a 7-6 advantage into a 12-6 lead and cruised to the 25-11 victory to move in front, two sets to none.
  • In the third frame, Charleston did not let up, quickly moving in front, 4-1. The Golden Eagles ended up outscoring the Crimson, 21-9, the rest of the way to secure a series sweep.
