CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 19 Harvard women's water polo went undefeated at the Bruno Classic winning all four of its games over the two-day tournament. The Crimson defeated Marist and La Salle on Saturday before defeating Pomona-Pitzer 16-9 and LIU 13-9 on Sunday. The Crimson improve to 7-1 on the season for the third season in a row.

Harvard Highlights

• The Crimson had 10 different goal scorers in the victory. 
• Erin Kim had another great game tallying four goals and four steals in game one on Sunday.
• Heidi Heffelfinger, Borden Wahl, Sasha Constandse, Jaiden Miller, Kaity Greenwald, Grace Thawley, and Dany Zapata all scored one goal. 
• Kaity Greenwald drew three knockouts in the victory. 
• Ruby Hodge had another impressive outing as the first-year recorded a four-goal game. 
• Erin Kim and Ruby Hodge combined for half of the Crimson goals. 
• Alexis Kieckhafer made ten saves in the victory.

How it Happened

• Harvard led 4-2 after the first quarter thanks to goals from Miller, Kim, and Ruby Hodge. 
• Harvard increased its lead to 8-5 after outscoring Pomona-Pitzer 4-3 in the second quarter. 
• Erin Kim netted her second and third goals of the game late in the third quarter as both teams scored three goals each. 
• Kim followed that up with two more goals in the final quarter to help lead the Crimson to a 16-9 victory. 
• The Crimson outscored Pomona-Pitzer 8-4 in the final two quarters.

• Evan Tingler had an impressive game as the senior scored four goals and added two assists in the victory. None bigger than her two goals in the third quarter to help the Crimson break the game open. 
• Ella Prentice, Jaiden Miller, Sasha Constandse and Borden Wahl all scored twice. 
• Brooke Hourigan had an assist and two steals. 
• Grace Thawley, Erin Kim, and Ella Schneider scored the remaining goals for the Crimson. 
• Alexis Kieckhafer was spectacular in net making ten saves including seven in the second and third quarters combined. 

How it Happened

• Both teams came out firing in the first quarter as the game was tied at five after the first eight minutes. 
• Evan Tingler scored her first two goals of the game in the opening quarter with Kaity Greenwald, Ella Prentice, and Sasha Constandse adding the others. 
• The Crimson shut out the sharks in the second quarter while also adding two goals from senior Jaiden Miller to make it 7-5 Crimson at the half. 
• Alexis Kieckhafer and the Crimson defense held strong in the third quarter only allowing one goal. 
• Evan Tingler scored two big goals in the third quarter to help give the Crimson some breathing room. The senior scored on a penalty shot and a ridiculous lob shot to score two of Harvard's four goals of the quarter. 
• The Sharks scored three goals in the final quarter. 

 

Next Up

The Crimson travel to Princeton for the Princeton Invite on Feb. 25 for a pair of games at DeNunzio Pool. The Crimson opens a busy Saturday with Princeton at noon before a quick turnaround against Iona at 2:30 p.m.
