WASHINGTON, D.C. – Harvard Radcliffe women's lightweight rowing opened the 2023 season against Georgetown Saturday afternoon on the Occoquan River in the nation's capital.
The Crimson was looking to take home the Class of 2004 Cup for the second year in a row. Radcliffe came away with a victory in the double, while the varsity 8 and the varsity four, despite maintaining their margin, were unable to overcome a fast start from the Hoyas.
Sophie Campbell and
Isabel Mehta won the varsity 2x race with a time of 9:15.7. The pair took an early lead 45 seconds into the race and were able to increase their margin as they progressed down the course. Campbell and Mehta won the 2000m race by 30 seconds.
