Harvard Never Trails in 3-1 Win Over Brown

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Harvard Crimson (12-9-1, 5-2 Ivy) took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never surrendered the advantage on the way to a 3-1 victory against the Brown Bears (5-17, 2-5 Ivy) on Friday.

How it Happened

The Crimson got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the bottom the first inning with the game still scoreless. Harvard scored three runs in the frame, highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of Teagan Shaw. Brown put one run on the scoreboard in the fourth.

As Harvard held on to a 3-1 lead, Brown drove one out to right center field where Megan Welsh crashed into the wall to grab what would have been a home run if it weren't for Welsh, helping seal the Crimson's ultimate two-run victory.
