Minicus Sets School Record in Indoor Heptathlon

Boston, Mass. - John Minicus set a new Harvard record in the heptathlon on Saturday, March 4 as he for the competed for the Crimson at the IC4A/ECAC Championships. 

Minicus, the only Harvard athlete at the meet, scored 5128 points through seven events to take second at the meet. His points came from a 7.30 second 60m dash, a jump of 6.74m in the long jump, a throw of 13.73m in the shot put, a 1.78m clearance and 4.25m clearance in the high jump and pole vault, respectively, and times of 8.36 in the 60m hurdles and 2:57.11 in the 1000m run. 

He placed in the top two of the competitors at the championship meet in five of the seven events, winning the long jump and 60m hurdles.

Six Crimson athletes will head to the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship meet from Friday, March 10 to Saturday, March 11 in Albuquerque, N.M.
