Harvard Rallies for 3-2 Walk-Off Victory Over Yale

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Harvard Crimson (19-12, 10-3 Ivy) rallied to score one in the seventh inning and walked it off on a single off the bat of junior Lauren Bobowski to pick up the 3-2 victory over the Yale Bulldogs (15-16, 7-6 Ivy) in game one of the series on Friday.

How it Happened

Trailing 2-0, the Crimson first put runs on the board in the sixth inning. Harvard scored twice, with one run coming across on Madi Mays' single.

The game remained tied until the bottom of the seventh, when Harvard loaded the bases and walked it off on an RBI single off the bat of Bobowski.

Game Highlights

• Junior Anna Reed (6-6) got the win for Harvard. The right-hander went seven innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on four hits, allowing two walks and striking out three.
• Bobowski led the way offensively for the Crimson, going 1-for-3 in the ballgame with an RBI. Mays provided a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 1-for-2 with an RBI. Savannah Fitzpatrick also contributed, going 1-for-3 for Harvard with a double.
• Harvard's highest scoring inning was the sixth, when it pushed two runs across.
• The Crimson out-hit the Bulldogs at a 6-4 clip.
• Harvard went 4-for-7 (.571) with runners in scoring position.

Up Next

Harvard will play host to Yale in two more games on Saturday with start times of 12:30 and 3 p.m. The first game will serve as a celebration of Title IX and the team's Pride game while the featured Bark in the Park event will run throughout both games. Both contests will be aired on ESPN+.
