COOPER RIVER N.J. – Radcliffe lightweight rowing had a great performance at the Knecht Cup over the weekend. All boats on day one qualified for the chance to compete on Sunday in their respective Grand Finals.
On Saturday, Radcliffe finished first in the women's double heat, finished first in the women's varsity four heat , and second place in the women's varsity eight heat as the team moved onto day two.
On Sunday the Black and White started the day with a first-place finish in the 2x final after defeating BU A,B,C, and D and Gordon. The pair of
Sophie Campbell and
Isabel Mehta led the race from start to finish and improved from last year's fourth-place finish.
In the lightweight 4+ finals Harvard finished in third-place and closed the gap on BU from the Beanpot.
The 4+ competed in both the lightweight and varsity division. In the lightweight 4+ final Harvard finished in third-place, closing the margin on BU from the Beanpot. One hour later in the varsity 4+ Grand Final, Radcliffe
defeated the same BU lineup, cross
ing the finish line as the top lightweight. Radcliffe finished behind third-place Connecticut by less than a second while finishing ahead of both Boston University and Duquesne to secure the fourth-place finish.
In the 8+ Grand Final, Radcliffe raced to a fifth-place finish after doubling up and racing against multiple openweight boats. The Black and White closed the gap on Boston University from the Beanpot and improved from a tenth-place finish last season to a fifth place finish this season.

The Black and White returns to Cambridge this weekend for a matchup on Saturday morning against Bates. The race will be streamed on ESPN+.
