CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis (12-9, 4-2 Ivy) sweeps Penn (11-9, 1-5 Ivy) 4-0 at home on Saturday, April 22. With today's victory, the Crimson is now 8-2 when competing at home this season.
 
The Crimson once again got off a rolling start in doubles. Harvard's duo of Rachel Arbitman and Iveta Daujotaite defeated Penn's Iris Gallo and Maya Urato 6-2 in the one position. In the three position, Harvard's Angel You and Charlotte Owensby defeated Penn's Claire Zhang and Gavriella Smith 6-4 to secure the doubles victory for the Crimson. The Crimson has now won the doubles point in seven straight matches.
 
Harvard's momentum from doubles would carry over into singles. In the one spot, the Crimson's No. 116 ranked singles player in the country, Charlotte Owensby, defeated Penn's Gavriella Smith in a 7-6, 1-6, 6-3 in a back-and-forth match. Iveta Daujotaite earned an impressive 7-6, 6-2 singles victory over Penn's Maya Urata in the four position. Harvard's Sany Gawande secured the 4-0 victory for the Crimson with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Penn's Claire Zheng in the six position.
 
At 4-2, the Crimson currently stand at fourth place in the Ivy League.

Harvard women's tennis will honor its four seniors, Sophia Ho, Kayla Leschly, Mihaela Marculescu, and Demi Snyder tomorrow at senior day in their match at home against No. 51 Princeton at 1 p.m.
