CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's golf junior
Brian Ma was the recipient of numerous Ivy League awards, including being unanimously voted the 2023 Ivy League Player of the Year, the league announced today.
Ma is just the second Crimson men's golfer to earn the title of Ivy League Player of the Year, joining Gregory Royston, who won the award in 2017.
In addition to being unanimously voted the top player in the Ivy, Ma was also selected to the All-Ivy First Team and the Academic All-Ivy Team. This is Ma's first time being named to the first team and the second consecutive year in which he earned Academic All-Ivy honors.
Ma placed in the top-15 in all eight tournaments he competed in this season, averaging a score of 69.55 and 1.59 strokes under par through 22 rounds. Of his top-15 performances, he landed in the top 10 six times, which included a trio of top-3 efforts and two first-place finishes.
Ma most recently placed second in the Ivy Championships with a score of one-under-par.
