NEW HAVEN, CT – No. 15 Harvard Men's Tennis (14-5, 2-0 Ivy) improved to 2-0 in Ivy League play as they downed No. 72 Yale (10-6, 0-1 Ivy), 5-2.
Ronan Jachuck ultimately clinched the win with a straight set victory at the No. 5 position to give the Crimson their seventh ranked win of the 2023 spring season.
To begin the match, the Crimson held strong to secure the doubles point and go up 1-0 early.
Daniel Milavsky and
Harris Walker continued their doubles domination by downing Gogineni/Lefevre (Yale) with relative ease, 6-1.
After dropping the match at the No. 2 position,
David Lins and
Alan Yim came up big for the Crimson. Winning, 6-4, at the No. 3 position, the duo of Lins and Yim clinched the doubles point for Harvard.
The Crimson then went to work in singles play, beginning with a commanding win from Milavsky at the No. 3 position. The sophomore cruised past his opponent in straight sets while only dropping two games.
After falling at the No. 1 position, the Crimson picked up back-to-back victories at the No. 4 and 6 positions to put Harvard up 4-1 and clinch the victory.
Valdemar Pape and
Ronan Jachuck both dropped their opponents in straight sets winning 6-4, 6-4 and 6-1, 6-4, respectively.
The Bulldogs and the Crimson traded wins at the No. 2 and 5 positions to settle the match at 5-2 in Harvard's favor.
Henry von der Schulenburg picked up the final win for the Crimson by trading sets with Vignesh Gogineni (Yale) and then winning a 10-8 tiebreaker decision.

- Recently nationally ranked duo, No. 86 Milavsky and Walker, continued their winning ways today with a commanding 6-1 victory at the No. 1 position.
- Lins and Yim clinched the doubles point today with their 6-4 victory and remain perfect on the season, improving to 5-0 as a duo.
- Milavsky improved to 9-6 for the spring with his strong win at the No. 3 position. Milavsky's 6-1, 6-1 victory was the least number of games dropped by any Crimson player on the day.
- With his win, Jachuck evened his spring record, improving to 6-6 and reaching 15 total wins for the 2022-23 season.
- Pape has had a strong first-year campaign with the Crimson as he sits tied with the second most singles wins on the team with nine.
- Each of the Crimson first three singles wins today came in straight sets.
- With their win today, the Crimson picked up their 75th all-time victory over the Bulldogs, improving their record in the series to 75-26. Harvard has now won the last 23 matchups between the two squads.
