NEWARK, N.J. – Harvard Men's Volleyball jumped out to a two-sets-to-none lead and eventually won in five sets on Friday night, taking down NJIT, 25-19, 25-22, 22-25, 23-25, 18-16, inside NJIT Wellness and Events Center.
How it Happened

- The Crimson fell behind early in the third set, 3-1, but managed to keep the score close. Both squads found themselves deadlocked at 18 only to have the Highlanders earn the next two points. Harvard closed to within 21-20, but NJIT captured the frame, 25-22.
- The fourth set was airtight early, so much so, the teams were level at 13. Three consecutive points by the Highlanders provided them breathing room, only to have the Crimson get to within one on three different occasions. Trailing 19-18, Harvard allowed NJIT to finish the set on a 6-5 run, which forced a fifth set.
- The fifth was drama-filled with NJIT looking like it would escape as it led, 3-1. The Crimson, however, scored the next two points to tie the score and the teams would find themselves knotted at 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16.
