CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Crimson registered a season-high 19 hits and posted double figure runs for the seventh time this year as Harvard University baseball took game two from Yale University, 11-4, after dropping game one, 5-2, in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at O'Donnell Field on Senior Day.
The Crimson (18-22, 14-6 Ivy) scored the final eight runs of game two to gain separation from the Bulldogs (17-22, 10-10 Ivy) after the visitors plated the final three runs of game one in the split of the twin bill.
Harvard moved to 5-1 in its last six games and now stands in second place in the Ivy League standings – one game back of first-place Penn (15-5 Ivy) entering the final day of the regular season on Sunday. Both teams have already secured spots in the inaugural four-team Ivy League Tournament set to take place at the site of the No. 1 seed from May 19-22.
