Henry von der Schulenburg and No. 37
Harris Walker of No. 11 Harvard Men's Tennis fell to in two tough battles to open the 2023 NCAA Singles Tournament.
Beginning the day, von der Schulenburg took on Sebastian Dominko (Notre Dame). The Harvard junior and his opponent traded games back and forth throughout the first set before Dominko was ultimately able to take the final two games to win 6-4. The second game provided similar results with Dominko closing out the match by winning 6-3.
Walker then battled tightly with Ozan Baris (Michigan State). Baris was able to take the first game 6-4 despite Walker rally back from down 1-3 to tie the set. The senior bounced back in the second game to tie the match up, winning handedly 6-3. In the final set to decide the match, despite a pair of attempted comebacks, Baris held off Walker to take the third, 6-3.
With their defeats, Walker and von der Schulenburg cap off their remarkable 2022-23 seasons which included nearly 50 combined wins between the two Crimson leaders.
