CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Following a perfect 7-0 Ivy season and a second straight championship, the Crimson were represented by three singles players and two doubles pairings in the 2023 All-Ivy awards. Rounding out the accolades,
Steven Sun was named to the Academic All-Ivy team.
First Team
Harris Walker – Singles*
As senior co-captain,
Harris Walker, closes out his already decorated career with the Crimson, he adds another First Team All-Ivy nod for singles to his resume. This season, Walker has played primarily at the No. 1 position, accumulating a record of 29-12 overall and 6-1 in conference play. In five of Walker's six wins, he dominated, cruising to straight set victories. Walker was crucial in helping the Crimson repeat as conference champions, including a come from behind 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 win against No. 108 Max Westphal in the team's match versus Columbia.
Henry von der Schulenburg – Singles*
For the second time in three years, co-captain,
Henry von der Schulenburg was named to First-Team All-Ivy for singles. Playing primarily at the No. 2 position this season, von der Schulenburg went 5-1 in singles play throughout conference battles and 18-6 overall. The junior picked up straight set wins in the team's matchups against Dartmouth and Brown. von der Schulenburg played at the No. 1 position in the team's key matchup against No. 11 Columbia. Despite dropping the first set and falling behind early in the second, the Crimson captain stormed back, defeating Ivy League Player of the Year, Michael Zheng, to tie the match.
Harris Walker and Daniel Milavsky – Doubles
Having not teamed up all fall, the duo of Walker and
Daniel Milavsky came to be a month prior to the beginning of Ivy League play. The pairing is 9-3 overall with four of their wins coming against ranked opponents. In Ivy play, the duo went 4-2 at the No. 1 position for the Crimson. In their wins, the pairing dominated, not allowing their opponents to win more than three games in any matchup. Earlier this season, the duo broke into the ITA Division I Collegiate Men's Tennis Doubles Rankings and now holds steady at No. 62.
Second Team
Ronan Jachuck – Singles
Throughout the Ivy season,
Ronan Jachuck played consistently at the No. 3 and 4 positions. Jachcuk joined Walker in leading the Crimson in conference wins, finishing with a record of 6-1 in Ivy action. The Second Team All-Ivy nod is the second of the junior's career. The highlight win of Jachuck's Ivy season came against Hugo Hashimoto of Columbia. With the Crimson looking to complete the come from behind victory over Columbia to remain perfect in Ivy play, Jachuck battled back after dropping the first set to win and clinch the overall victory for Harvard.
Ronan Jachuck and Steven Sun – Doubles
Jachuck and Sun have consistently paced the Crimson in doubles wins this season, racking up a record of 18-4 overall and 3-2 in Ivy League action. Each of the duos three wins against pairings from Princeton, Dartmouth, and Cornell clinched the doubles point for Harvard. Playing at the No. 2 position, the duo defeated each of their opponents 6-4 or better.
