Men's Squash 2022-23 Season Recap

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Coming into the 2022-23 season as defending champions and preseason No. 1, Harvard Men's Squash had another remarkable season by going 17-0 and never wavering from their spot atop college squash.  Led by senior co-captains, Marwan Tarek and George Crowne, the Crimson won their first Ivy title since 2020 and captured their fourth straight CSA Team National Championship.

The Crimson looked strong throughout the entire season, sweeping six opponents and defeating another five top-15 ranked opponents in 8-1 fashion.  The hallmark of the Crimson regular season came in their matchup against No. 2 Penn.  Narrowly beating Harvard last year to claim the Ivy League title, the Crimson looked to reverse the result this year on their home court.  With their backs against the wall, down 4-3 and down in the two remaining matches, Harvard stormed from behind to defeat Penn and ultimately win the Ivy League Championship.

The gritty win over Penn ultimately set the tone for the rest of the season as the men when on to claim their fourth straight CSA Team National title.  Harvard down No. 8 Cornell, 8-1, and No. 4 Yale, 6-3, in the opening two rounds to face off against No. 6 Trinity on their home courts.  Once again down early, the Crimson never wavered, avoiding falling behind 3-0 through the first three matches, the Crimson were able to battle back and claim the National Championship, capped off by a clinching win from senior co-captain, Marwan Tarek.

Returning a bulk of their core, the Crimson will look to continue their winning ways through the 2023-24 season.
