CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Football senior defensive tackle Thor Griffith has been named to the 2023 HERO Sports FCS Preseason All-America Team. The preseason honor is his second All-America accolade after earning a spot on The Bluebloods FCS Preseason All-America Second Team in June.  
 
A native of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Griffith gained a litany of honors in 2022, including first-team all-conference honors from the Ivy League, Phil Steele and The Bluebloods, All-America third-team recognition by Phil Steele, and All-New England accolades from the New England Football Journal. He saw action in all 10 games, ranking second on the team in sacks (5.0) and tackles for loss (12), and tied for third in tackles (46).
 
As a first-year in 2021, Griffith was a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award, given to top freshman in the country and was named to the Phil Steele FCS Freshman All-America Second Team, HERO Sports FCS Freshman All-America Team, and Phil Steele All-Ivy League Third Team. He played in all 10 contests, tallying 31 tackles, including a team-high 10.5 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks.
