Skiing Unveils 2023-24 Schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University skiing will compete in six carnivals over January and February, host the Harvard Carnival for the second straight year, and conclude its season with the NCAA Regionals and NCAA Championships as part of its 2023-24 schedule, Sam Benzing, the Paul J. Finnegan Family Head Coach for Harvard Nordic Skiing, and Scott MacPherson, The Peter H. Carter '69 Head Coach for Harvard Alpine Skiing, announced on Thursday.
 
Harvard will begin the season at the Vermont Carnival from Jan. 11-13 with the alpine portion of the event taking place at Stowe from Jan. 11-12 and the nordic portion of the event running from Jan. 12-13 at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center.
 
The Crimson will then compete at the Colby Carnival from Jan. 19-20 with alpine events occurring at Sugarloaf and nordic events taking place at Quarry Road.
 
For the second straight year, the Crimson will host the Harvard Carnival from Feb. 2-3 as the first of four carnivals in February. Harvard will host alpine events at Burke and nordic events at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center.
 
The team will compete in the Dartmouth Carnival from Feb. 9-10 with alpine at the Dartmouth Skiway and nordic at Oak Hill prior to skiing at the Williams Carnival from Feb. 16-17 with alpine at Jiminy Peak and nordic at Prospect Mountain.
 
From Feb. 23-24, the Crimson will compete in the NCAA Regionals as part of the Middlebury Carnival with alpine events at the Middlebury Snowbowl and nordic competition at the Rikert Outdoor Center.
 
The 2024 NCAA Skiing Championships will take place from Mar. 6-9 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado with alpine events at Mount Werner and nordic competition at Howelsen Hill. The University of Colorado, Boulder will serve as the event host.
 
Entering the 2023-24 academic year, Harvard enjoyed significant success during the 2022-23 season, qualifying four individuals for the NCAA Championships including Everett Sapp, Amelia Tucker, and Rémi Drolet as nordic qualifiers and Fredrik WIllumsen Haug as an alpine qualifier. Drolet went on to win an NCAA individual title in the Men's 20km Classic.
