CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard field hockey opens the 2023 season on the road this weekend, as the Crimson will travel to the University of Massachusetts and the University of Connecticut for a pair of games this weekend. The Crimson will face off against the Minutewomen on Friday at 5:00 p.m. before heading to Storrs to take on the Huskies on Sunday for a 1:00 p.m. matchup. The game on Sunday will be streamed.
What to Know
- The Crimson will look to build off another strong campaign, as Harvard finished the 2022 season at 13-4 (6-1 Ivy League). Harvard has won 60 games over the last four seasons, including a 31-3 record in games played at Berylson Field and a 26-2 mark in Ivy League contests.
- This season the Crimson will play eight home games leading up to the inaugural Ivy League Field Hockey tournament. Last season five teams from the Ivy League clinched bids to the NCAA Tournament.
- Last year's Ivy League rookie of the year, Bronte-May Brough returns to help lead the Crimson defense.
- Kitty Chapple and Emily Guckian also return this year after earning All-Ivy accolades last season.
- Last season the Crimson opened the season in Cambridge against Connecticut and fell 2-0 despite a late push to the nationally ranked Huskies.
