Alessandro Arlotti (three) each tallied career-highs in assists as Harvard University men's soccer defeated Fairfield University, 4-2, on Tuesday night at Lessing Field.
The Crimson (1-2-3) took a 3-0 lead at halftime and added a goal in the 66
th minute to hold off a second-half comeback from the host Stags (3-4-0).

th minute) each scored within an eight-minute span late in the first half to stake Harvard to its 3-0 halftime edge. After Fairfield netted goals in the 49

th minutes, Tellado completed his first career brace with a tally in the 66

Ebbinge – who tied the school single-game assist record – now has 28 career assists, ranking second all-time at Harvard in career assists.

- Junior Alessandro Arlotti tallied his first three assists of the season, posting three assists in a game for the first time in his career. He now has 17 career assists.
- Sophomore Nicholas Nyquist posted his first career point with an assist.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Lucian Wood made three saves – all in the second half – in the victory.
- Senior defender Nik White and junior defender Jan Riecke each played the full minutes among the team's field players. Riecke has played all 540 minutes on the season.
- As a team, Harvard led in shots on goal (7-5) and corner kicks (9-3).
- Harvard bettered its mark to 6-2-6 in its last 14 games.
- The Crimson improved to 13-1-2 all-time against Fairfield. Harvard has won each of the last seven matchups.
How It Happened
- Gutierrez opened the game's scoring in the 28th minute with his first goal of the season. After Arlotti carried the ball up the field, Ebbinge created an opening in the box, sliding a pass to Gutierrez at the edge of the six-yard box where he slotted home the goal.
- Harvard extended its edge to 2-0 in the 30th minute on Bjarnason's goal. After the Crimson won the ball in the air, Ebbinge played in a cross from the right side, allowing Bjarnason to direct a shot into the back of the net.
- The Crimson brought a 3-0 advantage into halftime behind Tellado's first goal of the match. After Ebbinge and Arlotti combined on multiple passes in the attacking third, Arlotti slid a pass to Tellado at the edge of the goal area before he knocked in the goal.
- Fairfield pulled within 3-1 in the 49th minute behind a goal from Asher Rosen.
- The Stags trimmed the margin to 3-2 in the 65th minute on a penalty kick goal from William Pierce.
- Tellado pushed the lead back to two at 4-2 in the 66th minute with his second goal of the game. After Nyquist created space for a pass in the box, Tellado sent a one-timed shot into the back of the net.
