CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's volleyball team (8-2, 1-0 Ivy) will travel to two more Ivy League contests at Columbia (2-8, 0-1 Ivy) and Cornell (3-7, 1-0 Ivy) on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 29-30. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Crimson are hoping to start their conference season by getting two more wins under their belt. Harvard will first head to New York, N.Y. where they will play the Lions of Columbia at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29. On Saturday, Sept. 30 they will then travel to Ithaca, N.Y. where they will play Cornell at 5 p.m.
What to Know
• Harvard has started the 2023 season 8-2 after winning seven non-conference games and starting the Ivy League campaign on the road at Dartmouth with a 3-1 win.
• Multiple Crimson players scored points in the double-digits against Dartmouth, including
Katie Vorhies,
Ashley Wang,
Brynne Faltinsky,
Ryleigh Patterson and
Ariana White. They led the Crimson to a four-set victory with scores of 25-19, 21-25, 25-23 and 25-19.
• The 2023 Harvard Volleyball team was ranked fifth in the Ivy League preseason poll but now sits 1-0 in conference play after opening weekend. The Crimson are at the top of the standings, as they have the best record outside of conference play.
• Harvard leads the all-time series against Columbia 46-22. They split the two contests with the Lions in 2022, winning 3-1 on the road last October but falling 1-3 at home in November.
• The Crimson trail Cornell in the all-time series against the Big Red, 29-41. In 2022, Harvard won a game on the road 3-0 against Cornell but fell at home 1-3.
