SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Harvard women's tennis kicked off competition at the Notre Dame Invite this afternoon by collecting a handful of wins over opponents out of DePaul University. The Crimson tallied two doubles wins and five singles wins in their nine total matches.
Harvard Highlights
- Maxi Duncan made her season debut in both doubles and singles, registering a pair of wins to kick off her junior year. Teaming up with Kate Kim, Duncan and the first-year won their doubles match, 6-4. In singles, Duncan was victorious 6-4 in both sets to down Yuliya Kizelbasheva (DePaul) in straight sets.
- Natalie Block and Angel You improved to 2-0 on the season by winning a battle in the third doubles match, pulling out a 7-5 victory over Eleanor Nobbs and Sasha Stula (DePaul).
- Kavya Karra continues her undefeated streak to begin her collegiate career, improving to 4-0 with a pair of 7-5 sets to defeat Greta Carbone (DePaul).
- Natalie Block was able to register a straight set win over Hannah Smith (DePaul) with a strong 8-6 advantage in the second set tiebreakers to close out the contest.
- Despite dropping the first set, You, came back with 6-2 and 6-3 second and third sets to capture her first singles victory of her senior campaign.
- First-year Stephanie Yakoff looked dominant in her match against Sasha Stula (DePaul), winning in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0.
