SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Harvard women's tennis continued play at the Notre Dame Invite this morning, competing against opponents of the hosting, University of Notre Dame. The Crimson collected added a handful of big wins in the second day of the three-day event.
Harvard Highlights
- Despite falling, Natalie Block and Angel You battled neck-and-neck with No. 49 nationally ranked duo Yashna Yellayi and Rylie Hanford (Notre Dame), forcing the match to tiebreakers.
- The first-year duo of Kavya Karra and Stephanie Yakoff were dominant in their doubles victory, downing their opponents 6-0.
- Kate Kim came back from a 6-3 first set loss to win the match against Carrie Beckman (Notre Dame), taking the final two sets, 6-2, 6-3.
- Karra continues her season opening hot streak, improving to 5-0 following a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory over Akari Matsuno (Notre Dame).
- First-year Yakoff picked up her second win of the weekend with a straight set, 6-4, 7-6 (7), result over Rylie Hanford (Notre Dame).
- You added an additional straight set victory for the Crimson, defeating Maria Olivia Castedo, 6-3, 6-2.
