CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Jennifer Weiss, the Head Coach for Harvard Women's Volleyball, has hired Henry Yip to join her staff as an assistant coach for the 2023 season. Weiss believes Yip will make a great contribution to her team's training and preparation.
"I am excited to have Henry join our staff," stated Weiss. "He brings a great deal of technical knowledge and will contribute to our volleyball analytics. Henry has a passion for the game and brings that to the gym every day."
Yip comes to Harvard after spending the past year with the Frostburg volleyball team, where he served as an assistant coach. He led one athlete to All-MEC Second Team honors and another to the All-MEC Freshman Team. Prior to his time with Frostburg, he served as a volunteer assistant coach with the MIT men's volleyball team. The final poll of the 2022 season had the Engineers ranked #20 in Division 3 Men's Volleyball.
Since 2020, he has served as a Bay State Games Girls Volleyball southeast volunteer assistant and the assistant varsity coach for Wellesley High School girls' volleyball in his home state of Massachusetts.
Yip graduated from UMass Boston in 2019 where he studied information technology. He currently plays for the Boston Hurricanes Volleyball Club and for Yankee Volleyball.
