CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Squash alumni and alumnae continue to impress on the world stage, posting a number of impressive wins throughout the summer at the professional and amateur level.
Below is a roundup of all the Harvard Squash current and former athlete accolades from the summer.
Ali Farag '14
- Became a four-time PSA World Champion in May.
- Won the El Gouna International title in June.
- Named the PSA World Tour Player of the Month for August.
- Crowned the Paris Squash 2023 Champion in August.
- Did not lose a single game prior to the semifinals.
- Remains No. 1 in PSA Men's World Rankings.
Amanda Sobhy '15
- Reached the semifinals at Paris Squash 2023 with a comeback win against No. 4 Joelle King.
- Currently ranked 5th in PSA Women's World Rankings.
Haley Mendez '15
- Announced her retirement from professional squash in May.
- Mendez reached a highest ranking of No. 36 in the world and competed in over 100 matches on the PSA tour.
- During her time at Harvard, she won three national championships and three Ivy League titles.
Sabrina Sobhy '19
- Reached the quarterfinals at Paris Squash 2023, upsetting No. 3 Hania El Hammamy.
- This was one of, if not the biggest win of her professional career.
- Currently ranked 16th in PSA Women's World Rankings.
Gina Kennedy '20
- Reached the semifinals of Paris Squash 2023, her first time making the semifinals of a Platinum-level event.
- Currently ranked 8th in the PSA Women's World Rankings.
Timmy Brownell '20
- Now ranked 48th in PSA Men's World Rankings, moving up two from his previous 50th ranked spot.
Victor Crouin '22
- Made it to the quarterfinals in the El Gouna International Squash Open and the Paris Squash Open, falling to Farag in both tournaments.
- Crouin is now ranked No. 7 in PSA Men's World Rankings.
Marina Stefanoni '24
- Competed with team USA at the 2023 Pan American Championships in June.
- Grabbed three medals at the championships in team, singles, and doubles competition.
- Helped the women to a first-place finish overall.
- Earned her seventh career PSA title at the Windsor Cup in Canada this August.
George Crowne '23
- Won his first PSA title at the Windsor Cup this August, defeating Canada's Brett Schille.
David Costales '26
- Crowned the South American Senior Men's Squash Champion
- Won five matches to claim the crown.
Saran Nghiem '26
- Captured the Open Costa Brava Squash Project title in June.
- Captured Berkhamsted Linksap Open title in July to claim her third PSA title.
Jacob Lin '27
- Represented Canada at the Junior Worlds, reaching the third round of the tournament.
