Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Ted Donato Records 300th Win as Men's Hockey Defeats Yale 1-0

NEW HAVEN, CT – Ryan Healey scored the lone goal and Aku Koskenvuo recorded his first career shutout as the Crimson defeated Yale for Ted Donato's 300th career win. One of only three coaches in Harvard men's hockey history to hit 300 victories, Donato sits only 25 wins away from becoming the all-time wins leader. Harvard wraps up its eight-game road swing with a win and returns to Bright-Landry next weekend for a pair of games against RPI and Union.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ryan Healey added another power-play tally in the first period to give the Crimson the only goal of the game. Assisted by Casey Severo and Joe Miller, Healey scored his sixth goal of the season on a slapshot with the man advantage.

The duo of Miller and Healey have been on a tear in recent weeks as the pair have 14 combined points in the last seven games. Healey has scored in three consecutive games and has four in the last three games after scoring twice against UMass Lowell. Dating back to Princeton, Miller has recorded seven points in five games while adding five over his last three after another point tonight.  Both sophomores currently have a three-game point streak.

Harvard controlled much of the play throughout the opening two periods as they put a season-high 19 shots on net in the middle frame. Ultimately, the Crimson outshot the Bulldogs 30-21 at the final buzzer.

Aku Koskenvuo stood tall throughout all three periods to record his first career shutout between the pipes. The first shutout since Mitchell Gibson held the Big Red at bay in the 2023 ECAC Semi-Final, the Finnish netminder was solid in the opening periods and made multiple solid stops late in the game to protect the one-goal lead. Koskenvuo made 10 stops in the third period as he led the Crimson defense against a late push from the Bulldogs.

NEXT UP
Harvard finally returns to Bright-Landry for its first conference home game since Nov. 4 where it will play host to Union and RPI next weekend.
