HOW IT HAPPENED
RPI scored first early in the first period to put the Crimson in an early deficit but
Casey Severo added his second goal of the last three games to tie the game at one just two minutes later. The rookies helped out as
Cam Johnson and
Michael Callow added the assists after some great work in the corners.
Michael Callow wasted no time adding his second point of the night after picking the corner for his second goal of the year. Assisted by
Cam Johnson and
Mason Langenbrunner, the Boston native has points in three of the last four games.
RPI tied the game to start the second period after a breakdown out front of Koskenvuo. After the Crimson were awarded a power-play,
Ryan Healey picked up where he left off and fired a shot on the man advantage to regain the lead. Assisted by
Joe Miller and
Ben MacDonald – Miller has assisted on a Healey goal in back-to-back games.
Luke Khozozian was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct after being called for boarding to send the Crimson on the PK for five minutes. While shorthanded,
Jack Bar threw a puck up the ice and
Joe Miller beat the defender in a race to send him on a breakaway. After a quick move, Miller scored the first shorthanded goal of the season for the Crimson on the breakaway. Miller has seven points in his last four games.
RPI scored on the power-play to draw within one but the Crimson successfully killed off the remainder of the penalty Khozozian.
Up by one entering the third, senior Ryan Druklec scored his first of the year after some great work in the offensive zone by the fourth-line. Rookies joined in again after
Salvatore Guzzo and
David Hejduk added the assists. In his return to the lineup, Guzzo now has points in back-to-back games while
David Hejduk added his first career point.
Ryan Healey finished the night with another goal assisted by
Michael Callow as the pair wrapped up a great evening at Bright-Landry.
Michael Callow and
Cam Johnson finished the game with three points each -the first rookies this year to have a three-point game.
