CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Crimson battled back late in the game after falling behind 2-0 in the early minutes of the opening period as Harvard ultimately fell to No. 13 Cornell on Friday evening. Splitting the season series with the Big Red, Harvard will shift its focus to Colgate tomorrow night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Harvard fell into an early hole after two goals in four minutes to start the game. After a pair of penalties in the first, Harvard played most of the period in its own zone after being outshot 12-1.
Harvard began to push back in the second and third periods as the pace and energy picked up in Bright-Landry. In the third consecutive sell-out at Bright,
Joe Miller and the Crimson began getting some shots on Ian Shane.
Harvard was able to keep Cornell off the scoresheet for the rest of the game and outshot them 16-11 in the next two periods. Looking to make a hard final push in the third Harvard had a power-play looking to get within one but was unable to capitalize.
Ryan Healey put up six shots in the game while
Zakary Karpa was great on the dot with 12 face-off wins.
