CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's volleyball (6-4, 1-0 Ivy) will look to continue its strong start in Ivy action this weekend as it remains home to welcome Columbia (3-7, 0-1 Ivy) and Cornell (7-3, 1-0 Ivy) to Cambridge.
The Crimson will open the two-game stretch against the Lions on Friday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. before facing off against the Big Red the following evening at 5:00 p.m. Either match will be played on Harvard's home court at the Malkin Athletic Center and on ESPN+.
What to Know
- Following a nine-match non-conference stretch to open the season and the beginning of Ivy action, Harvard sits at 6-4 overall.
- For the second straight season, the Crimson began its Ivy slate with a victory over Dartmouth, dropping the Big Green in four sets this past Friday.
- Brynne Faltinsky put up career numbers to help lead the Crimson over the Big Green collecting 20 kills with a .224 hitting percentage, two aces, four block assists, and eight digs.
- Faltinsky (second) and Corinne Furey (ninth), who lead the team in kills, both rank inside the top 10 in conference for kills per set, averaging 3.68 and 2.91, respectively.
- Rocky Aguirre posted a double-double in the conference opener, leading the team with 41 assists while also adding a near career-best 15 digs. The senior currently ranks fifth in the league in assists with 339 total and by averaging 8.48 per set.
- Lindsey Zhang registered a season-high and fell one shy from a career-best with her team leading 21 digs. The senior also added six assists and two service aces. Zhang ranks third in the Ivy League with her 3.48 dig per set average.
- Bennett Trubey had a strong showing that landed her on the Ivy League weekly honor roll, adding five kills and ten total blocks, including a match ending solo block.
- After the career performance from the first-year, Trubey ranks second in the Ivy League in blocks per set, averaging 1.25 behind only Camryn Carlo of Cornell. Teammate Ryleigh Patterson also ranks in the top five, coming in at fourth with 1.13 per set.
- Additionally, by hitting .327, Patterson ranks inside of the top 10 (eighth) in the conference for hitting percentage.
- The Crimson defense proved to be the deciding factor against the Big Green as it put up a season-high 20 total blocks. Harvard currently ranks second in the league in blocks behind only Cornell, averaging 2.28 per set.
- Harvard holds a strong 48-22 lead in the all-time series versus Columbia. The Crimson will look to extend its winning streak over the Lions to three, having swept the foe in each of the last two victories.
- The Crimson currently trail 29-43 all-time against the Big Red. Harvard will look to snap a three-game losing streak against Cornell, most recently falling 2-3 in October of last season.

Harvard will next hit the road for another back-to-back weekend against Princeton (3-8, 1-1 Ivy) and Penn (7-4, 1-1 Ivy). The Crimson will face the Ivy foes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11 and at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, respectively.
