Harvard Women’s Rugby Secures Spot in Third Consecutive 15s National Title Game with Victory Over Army

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Harvard women's rugby team triumphed over Army in the NIRA Semi-Final, securing a 26-19 victory. With this win, the defending champions have advanced to their third consecutive national title game.
 

HOW IT HAPPENED

Army struck first, securing an early try within the opening minutes. Lennox London made a brilliant run down the outside, scoring the Crimson's first try of the match. This marked her 17th try of the season, setting a new school record for the most tries in a single season, surpassing her own record from last fall.
 

Following that, Chloe Headland capitalized on impressive ball movement near the try line, extending the Crimson's lead with another try. She converted the kick, putting Harvard ahead 14-5. Army responded just before halftime, scoring to narrow the deficit to 14-12.
 

The Crimson came out firing in the second half, with Carly Lehman charging into the try zone for five points. Headland's strong performance pushed the lead to 21-12.
 

As Army attempted to push upfield, Victoria Stanley made a pivotal interception of an Army pass, which she converted into a try for Harvard.

Though the Black Knights managed to score again in the closing minutes, they fell short, with Harvard clinching the victory at 26-19 and advancing to their third consecutive national title game.
