CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –
Gwyn Lapp scored the lone goal for the Crimson as Harvard fell to No. 15 Brown 5-1 on Saturday afternoon. Tied 1-1 heading into the second period, three Brown goals in the second made the difference as Harvard split its first pair of ECAC games at Bright-Landry.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Emily Davidson made some stellar stops in the first period, including one off an odd-man rush early in the period to keep the game scoreless.
Harvard fell behind after a Brown power-play marker midway through the opening period. Making a move around the Crimson defense, India McDadi beat Davidson glove side to open the scoring.
Shortly after,
Ellie Bayard made a strong move to the net around the Brown defenders, and the puck jumped out to the slot where
Gwyn Lapp netted her second goal of the season to tie the game at one.
Brown connected on three goals in the second period, including a power-play goal. Getting three power-play opportunities in the middle frame, the Crimson was able to kill off two of the three advantages for the Bears.
Brown added a fifth goal off a deflection late in the third period to take a 5-1 lead. Approaching the end of the final frame, the Crimson generated three great looks, but Rory Edwards pushed them aside.
