NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Harvard women's volleyball (10-11, 5-7 Ivy) wrapped up its 2024 road slate this evening, falling to Yale (16-4, 11-1 Ivy), 3-0, in New Haven, Conn.
How it Happened
The Crimson and the Bulldogs traded points to open the first set before Yale broke out on a 4-1 scoring run to create the first multipoint advantage. Harvard responded, mirroring the Bulldogs run to help bring the match back to even at 10-10. Despite continuing to battle and cutting into each deficit throughout the frame, the Bulldogs eventually erupted for a 5-0 scoring run to close the set at 25-17.
The opening points of the second set were a back-and-forth affair as both teams' strong offensive performances continued. With the frame tied at 10-10, Yale broke away to create the first significant lead with a 5-1 run heading into the midway break. Harvard fought but could never fully erase the Yale advantage, eventually dropping the second set, 25-19.
Poised to keep the match alive, the Crimson came out battling in the third set. While the Bulldogs pulled ahead early but Harvard responded with a 3-0 run to even the set and then another 6-1 scoring push to create its own four-point advantage. With a 12-8 lead, the Crimson growing energy forced a Yale timeout. Following the break, the Bulldogs took back momentum, powering to its own 6-1 run. The remainder of the set continued as a back-and-forth fight with Yale ultimately using a slight lead to solidify the match with a 25-22 third frame result.
Harvard Highlights
- Brynne Faltinsky recorded her 15th overall and fifth straight double digit kill performance to lead the Crimson with 13 kills while hitting .290. The junior also added eight digs on the night.
- Peyton Hollis had a strong night for Harvard, adding nine kills with a team-high .333 hitting percentage.
- Amelie Lima led the team with 11 digs while Lindsey Zhang followed closely behind with 10 of her own.
- Rocky Aguirre recorded 23 assists on the night while also contributing three kills, an ace, and six digs.

The Crimson will return home for the final two matches of the regular season, welcoming Penn and Princeton on Friday, November 15 and Saturday, November 16, respectively.
