Men’s Basketball’s Hunt Earns Ivy League Rookie of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's Basketball first-year guard Austin Hunt has earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors after scoring a career-high 16 points in the Crimson's 67-61 win over Iona on Sunday, the Ivy League conference office announced on Monday afternoon.

Hunt scored a team and career-high 16 points for his first collegiate game in double figures, while adding three assists, two rebounds, and two steals in Harvard's road victory over the Gaels. He hit 5-of-9 field goals and 5-of-6 free throws in the game. Hunt netted 14 of his 16 points in the second half, making 4-of-5 field goals and 5-of-6 free throws in the second stanza.

As a team, Harvard has tallied four Ivy League Rookie of the Week awards on the season with first-year guard Robert Hinton winning the award three times (Nov. 11, Nov. 25, Dec. 9). The Crimson stands as the only program in the league to have multiple first-years win the award this season.

Next, Harvard hosts Bowdoin College on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 2:00 p.m. (ESPN+) at Lavietes Pavilion in the Crimson's final non-conference game of the season.
