CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis will hit the road once again for a pair of battles against Furman and Liberty in Greenville, SC on Saturday, February 17 at 11:00 a.m. and Sunday, February 18 at 1:00 p.m., respectively.
What to Know
- Most recently the Crimson hosted the 2024 ECAC Championship and went 2-1 across tournament action.
- In the opening match, Harvard fell to Yale but bounced back in dominant fashion by dropping Cornell and Dartmouth both 4-0 on consecutive days.
- Harvard has had a strong start to its 2024 spring slate by winning six strong matches and only dropping contests to No. 10 Texas A&M and Yale.
- Last weekend Holly Fischer and Stephanie Yakoff were dominant in doubles play at they went 3-0 across the weekend to help Crimson pick up the doubles point in its final two matches.
- Kate Kim continues to lead the team in singles victories by a wise margin and she sits with a 6-1 record following a 2-1 weekend. Overall, the first-year is 16-4 overall in 2023-24.
- Maxi Duncan has had a strong start to her spring season by collecting 5-2 record to pull within a win of reaching double digits for singles action in 2023-24.
- Stephanie Yakoff joins Kim in a strong beginning to her collegiate career accumulating a 3-2 record in dual action and a 11-4 overall singles record. Yakoff has also collected the most doubles wins with a total record of 16-5.
- Facing off against Furman for just the second time ever and the first time since 2012, Harvard will look to grow its advantage in the all-time series. In their one match up, the Crimson were victorious, 5-2.
- The second match up of the weekend will serve as the first all-time between Liberty and Harvard.
