CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –
Derek Mullahy made 31 stops as the Crimson dropped a hard-fought overtime battle to Clarkson on Saturday night.
Cam Johnson and
Joe Miller added the tallies for the Crimson as it took four of a possible six points this weekend. The Crimson hits the road for its final road trip of the season next weekend with a pair of games against RPI and Union.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Harvard scored first after
Joe Miller picked up his second short-handed goal of the season. On yet another breakaway, Miller picked up the loose puck and made a quick move for his team-leading 11
th goal of the season.
Clarkson tied it up late in the first period to make it 1-1 heading into the break.
Minutes into the second period, Cameron Johnson picked a corner to make it 2-1. Johnson's fourth of the year came after
Michael Callow forced a turnover and
Casey Severo picked the puck up and dropped it to Johnson in the offensive zone.
The Crimson took a 2-1 lead heading into the third period. Late in the final frame, Clarkson scored to make it 2-2 and eventually forced overtime. The Golden Knights scored in the 3-3 frame to take the extra point.
GAME NOTES
- Miller added his second shorthanded goal of the season. The sophomore is the only player this season with a shorthanded goal.
- The PK was perfect again tonight killing off both opportunities.
- Derek Mullahy was the first Crimson goalie to play back-to-back games in one weekend this season.
