Crimson Earns Point in OT Loss to Clarkson

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.Derek Mullahy made 31 stops as the Crimson dropped a hard-fought overtime battle to Clarkson on Saturday night. Cam Johnson and Joe Miller added the tallies for the Crimson as it took four of a possible six points this weekend. The Crimson hits the road for its final road trip of the season next weekend with a pair of games against RPI and Union.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Harvard scored first after Joe Miller picked up his second short-handed goal of the season. On yet another breakaway, Miller picked up the loose puck and made a quick move for his team-leading 11th goal of the season.

Clarkson tied it up late in the first period to make it 1-1 heading into the break.

Minutes into the second period, Cameron Johnson picked a corner to make it 2-1. Johnson's fourth of the year came after Michael Callow forced a turnover and Casey Severo picked the puck up and dropped it to Johnson in the offensive zone.

The Crimson took a 2-1 lead heading into the third period. Late in the final frame, Clarkson scored to make it 2-2 and eventually forced overtime. The Golden Knights scored in the 3-3 frame to take the extra point.

GAME NOTES

  • Miller added his second shorthanded goal of the season. The sophomore is the only player this season with a shorthanded goal.
  • The PK was perfect again tonight killing off both opportunities.
