Women's Ice Hockey Comes Up Short at No. 3 Clarkson

POTSDAM, N.Y. – Harvard women's ice hockey was tripped up by the No. 3 Clarkson Golden Knights in the team's final game of the regular season. The Crimson (5-22-2, 3-18-1 ECACH) fell to the Golden Knights 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Harvard made the trip to Clarkson in an attempt to split the series after its loss to the ECAC foe earlier this season (Dec. 2).
  • The Golden Knights jumped onto the ice playing well, controlling posession the first period and grabbing two goals in opening frame. However, the Crimson did have some quality chances in its five shots on goal during the first 20.
  • Harvard continued to put the puck on the net in the second period. The best chance for a goal came from the combination of Gwyn Lapp and Kaley MacDonald on a power play, but the shot was blocked by Clarkson.
  • The Crimson opened the third period on the power play but were barred from scoring by the Golden Knights.
  • The third period was very defensive for the Crimson, with Alex Pellicci making nine saves before the Golden Knights were able to sneak another goal past the junior goalkeeper.
  • The Crimson's offensive efforts were stifled by the Golden Knights for the remainder of the third period as Clarkson skated away with the 3-0 win.

HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS

UP NEXT
