SAVANNAH, Ga. - Harvard men's golf kicked off its Spring competition season with a solid effort at the Savannah Intercollegiate, placing second in the 13-team field. The Crimson posted a combined 54-hole team score of 862 to go two-under-par as a group in the tournament. The effort was powered by a number of impressive individual performances. Jeff Fang carded the lowest score in the tournament with his two-under-par, 214. Brian Ma (215, -1), Kevin Sze (220, +4) and Jonathan Hartono (220, +4) all joined Fang in the top 25 at the end of the tournament. 

Hartono got hot in the first round on Saturday morning, posting the second lowest round of the morning with a five-under-par 67. Hartono went bogey-free with a 31 on the front nine to put him in second place individually after 18 holes. Brian Ma went two-under in the first round to help position the Crimson in first place through 18 holes. 

Fang made his move in the second half of the Saturday rounds, going two-under and carding a 70 to move into the top 20. In the final round on Saturday, Fang and Sze both recorded rounds of 72 to keep Harvard in second place at the conclusion of the tournament. 

HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS 

• Jonathan Hartono's round of 67 in the first 18 holes was a tournament low for the Crimson. 
• Jeff Fang had the highest finish, going two-under to position himself in T-10. 
• Hartono and Sze went seven-under and six-under on par five holes to finish tied for second and third in field, respectively. 
• Darren Choi, playing as an individual, was one of only nine golfers to post an eagle, carding a three on the par-five seventh hole in round two. 
• Harvard posted the second most birdies as a team in the tournament, carding 45.
