CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –
Ian Moore netted the overtime winner as the Crimson defeated Yale to take two crucial points in the ECAC standings heading into the regular season finale tomorrow night. Moore netted his first of the season in the extra frame while
Ryan Fine added a second-period tally to tie the game at one.
Aku Koskenvuo made 29 stops against the Bulldogs to take home the Tim Taylor Cup as the game MVP of the annual Harvard-Yale game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Making it happen on both ends of the ice,
Ian Moore made a great play on a 2 on 1 in the first period to break up a Bulldogs odd-man opportunity.
Yale scored first on the power-play as the man advantage was expiring to take a one-goal lead in the second period.
Later in the period,
Ryan Fine picked up his second goal in as many games after putting a puck on net that caught a Yale defender and deflected past the netminder to tie the game at one.
Aku Koskenvuo was stellar in the third and in overtime to keep the Crimson hopes alive including two unbelievable stops on partial breakaways in overtime.
After breaking up a Yale chance,
Joe Miller found Zak Karpa in the neutral zone who made a pass to
Ian Moore to send the Crimson on the rush. Moore walked in and made a perfect shot to secure the extra point and net his first goal of the season.
