PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Harvard men's squash team rebounded this morning with a 5-4 win over the No. 8 Drexel Dragons at the CSA National Championships. With the win, the Crimson will now move into the fifth-place matchup against Columbia tomorrow morning.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Harvard got back on the courts this morning looking to bounce back after a narrow loss to Yale in the quarterfinal round of the Potter Cup playoffs yesterday.
Tate Harms opened the action with a win at the three spot, sweeping his opponent in a 3-0 victory, to give Harvard an early lead in the match.
Jacob Lin won two tie breakers to earn the win at the six spot in a 3-1 victory. The Dragons fought back with a win at the ninth pairing to make the score 2-1 in favor of the Crimson after the first wave.
Denis Gilevskiy got the win at the fourth pairing, defeating his opponent 3-0 while outscoring him 33-11, to boost the Crimson to a 3-1 lead.
David Costales followed with a 3-1 win of his own to put the Crimson on the brink of victory.
Liam Rotzoll clinched the match for the Crimson with his win at the fifth position.
The remainder of the matches went to the Dragons as
Ido Burstein was upset at the two spot in a competitive 3-1 final,
Neel Joshi narrowly fell 2-3 in a highly competitive match at seven and
Ishant Shah was knocked off, 1-3, in the eighth match.
