CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis improves its win streak to five with a, 4-0, victory over BU this afternoon.
How it Happened
After a quick win in the No. 1 position and a loss in the No. 2, the Crimson were able to clinch the doubles point in a tight battle at the No. 3 spot. After back-and-forth sets,
Rachel Arbitman and
Kavya Karra were finally able to beat out their BU opponents in a 6-4 result.
Moving into singles play,
Holly Fischer moved the Crimson lead to 2-0 with a dominant victory at the No. 1 spot. Facing Victoria Carlsten (BU), Fischer dropped the least number of games of any Crimson player by winning in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3.
Natalie Block was able to pull the Crimson within a match of clinching by downing Rhea Rai (BU) in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, in her second ever appearance at the No. 6 spot.
Finally, in a back-and-forth contest,
Stephanie Yakoff defeated BU's Michelle Kleynerman in a 6-4, 6-3 straight set decision and clinched the victory for the Crimson.
