What to Know
- Harvard is coming off a two-regatta weekend where it sailed in Providence, Rhode Island, for the NEISA Open Team Race Championship, and New Haven, Connecticut, for the Yale Women's Team Race. The top-ranked Crimson finished second at the NEISA event, with the No. 8 Harvard women's team placing fourth at its Ivy League counterpart's regatta.
- The Crimson posted a 16-7 record at the NEISA Open Team Race Championship, finishing one decision behind No. 2 Yale, which went 17-6 over two days of sailing. In action for Harvard were skippers Justin Callahan, Mitchell Callahan and Robby Meek, with Kennedy Leehealey, Alexandra Dorofeev, Marbella Marlo and JJ Drummond serving as crew.
- Down at Yale, Harvard logged a 5-10 record vs. the six-team field, with all five decisions coming against nationally ranked foes (No. 7 Dartmouth, No. 10 Tulane – twice, No. 11 MIT – twice). Cordelia Burn, Sarah Burn and Zoey Ziskind were the Crimson skippers, with Emily Launderville, Sarra Guezguez, Peyton Hadfield, Lily Bartlett and Margo Silliman sharing crew duties.
- Harvard is set to compete in three regattas in one weekend for the first time since October when it appeared at the Victorian Urn Trophy, Schell Trophy and BU Invitational. The Crimson finished in the upper half of two of the three regattas, taking the Schell and finishing fourth of 15 teams at the Victorian Urn.
- Last season, Harvard finished sixth of 10 teams at the New England Women's Team Race Championship. Several sailors from that squad are back in 2024, including Cordelia Burn, Marlo, Sarah Burn, Launderville, Silliman and Dorofeev.
- Harvard is making its first appearance since 2019 at the Owen and Mosbacher-Knapp Trophies, which was held at Yale that season. The Crimson finished in third place overall and second in what doubled as the Ivy League Championship.
- The Crimson was scheduled to race at the Thompson Trophy in 2023, but a lack of wind nixed racing in New London. In 2022, however, Harvard came in 13th place at the Thompson Trophy. Dorofeev is the only returner from that Crimson team.
