What to Know
- Harvard enters the Marchiando Trophy Team Race, hosted by MIT, as the defending champions. The Crimson's 2025 victory was its third at the event since 2019.
- Harvard returns all three of its skippers from last season's Marchiando (Justin Callahan, Mitchell Callahan, Robby Meek) and two crew in Rosella Irfan and Christina Chen. The Crimson dominated the field, going 20-1 in sub-optimal weather conditions and winning the regatta by four races over runner-up Yale (16-5).
- Harvard is coming off a fourth-place performance at last year's Dellenbaugh Trophy, which marked its best showing at the regatta since 2019, when it came in third.
- Back from last season's Dellenbaugh outfit are skippers Kate Danielson and Zoey Ziskind, and crew Sophia Montgomery, Amelie Zucker, Peyton Hadfield and Katherine Shin. Harvard went 6-3 during first-day action to earn a spot in the Gold Top 4, but struggled on Sunday and ultimately finished at 7-8.
- The Crimson is coming off a weekend that saw it win the Friis Trophy Team Race and come in sixth at the Duplin Trophy Women's Team Race. The Friis victory was the program's fifth in four weeks, marking the first time since at least 2008-09 that Harvard has won at least one regatta in four straight spring weekends. Additionally, the Crimson has not finished lower than sixth place in any spring regatta and has not done so this season (2025-26) since Oct. 25, when it finished ninth of 18 teams at the Terrier Invitational.
- The Crimson's lineup at the Friis earned NEISA Open Sailor-of-the-Week honors, giving Harvard two such awards in as many weeks. This week's edition featured the Callahans, Aidan Pesce, Michelle Chung, Meek, Jacob Posner and Chen.
- Harvard enters this weekend's action ranked No. 1 in the Sail1Design coed rankings and No. 8 in the women's rankings.
