Women's Lacrosse Hosts Cornell On Saturday

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In the last game of a three-game home swing, Harvard women's lacrosse is set to play Cornell on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at Jordan Field. Looking to improve to 3-1 in Ivy play, the Crimson has picked up wins over Dartmouth and Merrimack over the last seven days after scoring a combined 34 goals through eight quarters of play. 
 
In a busy day at Jordan Field, the Crimson will host its Youth Day, Alumnae Weekend, and MGH game on Saturday. 

WHAT TO KNOW 

STANDINGS UPDATE
  • The Crimson currently sit in third place in the Ivy Standings with a 2-1 record. Tied with Penn who also has a 2-1 record, the Crimson fell to the Quakers earlier in the season. 
  • Cornell and Princeton both also have two wins through three conference games this season. 
  • Harvard is No. 29 in the most recent update in the RPI
SCOUTING THE BIG RED 
  • Sitting at 7-4 through 11 games this season, Cornell is coming off a 17-4 loss to No. 3 Syracuse. 
  • The Big Red won four of its first five games to start the season including wins over Cal, Dartmouth, and Columbia. 
  • Three of the four losses for the Big Red have come from teams listed or ranked in the IWLCA Poll at the time of the game. Dropping matchups to Princeton, Penn, UVA, and Syracuse  
LAST TIME OUT
  • Callie Hem and Riley Campbell both added hat-tricks. The senior duo has hat-tricks in eight of nine games this season. 
  • The Crimson held the Warriors off the board in two-quarters tonight making it the fifth time this season it has not allowed a goal in a quarter of play. 
  • The great defensive showing marks the second time this season the Crimson has shut an opponent in two different quarters. 
  • Harvard has a +80 goal differential in wins this season after scoring 134 goals while only allowing 54 goals. 
  • It was the third time this season that the Crimson has allowed five or fewer goals.  
  • Callie Hem became the 11th player in program history to hit the 150-point mark. 
  • Reigning Ivy Offensive Player of the Week, Riley Campbell notched another hat-trick in the win. 

NEXT UP 

Harvard will hit the road for another road game against Yale next Saturday in a key Ivy matchup.
