Watch: Harvard-Radcliffe Lightweights 2024 Spring Season Recap

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –– The Harvard-Radcliffe Lightweight program had an impressive 2024 spring racing season as the Black and White found success across its regular season and postseason competition.

Its first win of the season came at the Knecht Cup, in which the varsity eight and varsity four both came in first place among a competitive field. Next, Harvard-Radcliffe hosted two home regattas on back-to-back days, defeating MIT and Boston University prior to topping Bates and Trinity.

After the dual season, Harvard-Radcliffe prepared itself for the always competitive Eastern Sprints. Posting strong performances, the varsity eight and varsity four both came in second place, and the varsity double finished fifth.

In its final competition of the season, the Black and White next competed in the IRA National Championship in West Windsor, New Jersey. Capping off the team's 2024 season, the varsity eight placed third and claimed a bronze medal, marking the first time the boat had medaled since 2016.

Overall, Harvard-Radcliffe achieved all-around team success in 2024 and performed well in its postseason regattas. Following a successful 2024, the program can bring an optimistic mindset to next year as it continues to grow and build on this past year's momentum.
