MELBOURNE, Australia – Former Crimson standout and NCAA national champion
Stephanie Ratcliffe '23 is Paris bound, as she will compete in the hammer throw for Australia at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Over her four-year career in Cambridge, Ratcliffe left an incredible legacy in the hammer throw and the weight throw. The 2023 outdoor season was one to remember for the Melbourne, Australia native, as Ratcliffe went undefeated in all nine of her meets.
After throwing 73.11m (239'10") in the hammer throw at the 2023 NCAA East Region First Round, Ratcliffe made history in Austin, Texas at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships, as she won the national title in the hammer throw with a toss of 73.63m (241'7"). Her throw at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships is the school record. Ratcliffe also holds the school record in the weight throw with an attempt of 21.88m (71'9.5") at the 2023 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championships.
The 2024 Paris Olympics begin on Wednesday, July 24, as Track & Field action begins on Wednesday, August 1. The qualifying round for the women's hammer throw will take place on Sunday, Aug. 4, as the women's hammer throw final is set for Tuesday, Aug. 6.
