CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –– Former Harvard-Radcliffe Lightweight Rowing athlete Kristen Faulkner '16 was named to the United States Track Cycling Team, which will compete at the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The Harvard-Radcliffe alumna began pursuing professional cycling only four years ago, unlike other Olympic cyclists competing.
The Alaska native was a Harvard-Radcliffe varsity rower for two years (2015-2016). In 2016, Faulkner was part of the first varsity boat for the entire season. She sat five seat in the 1V at the IRA National Championship where she helped the team earn a bronze. The Black and White also came in second place at Eastern Sprints earlier that year.
Faulkner started her journey with cycling in 2016, and began racing for Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank in 2020. Faulkner is the 2024 Pro Road Race national champion and already has three Grand Tour stage wins over the past two years. She has won the Giro d'Italia Women, Tour de Suisse, and the Pan-American Games, while posting top-10 GC results at Itzulia Women, Women's Tour, Tour de Suisse, and Ladies Tour of Norway.
Faulkner will be on Team Pursuit at the 2024 Olympic Games and will begin her journey on August 6. US Olympic Track Cycling will be streamed on
Peacock.
